Layers, a group exhibition at Buffalo Arts Studio, Buffalo, NY: June 28 – August 9, 2024
Buffalo Arts Studio brings together four artists working at the intersection of art and craft to exhibit in the Community Space gallery. Colleen Ayson, Helen Beckly-Forest, Angela Guest, and Kelly Schnurr all combine traditional modes of artmaking, including drawing, painting, and photography, with innovative textile and collage practices. The resulting objects are dynamic expressions of personal, playful gestures.

DESIGN EXPERIENCE

GreenBird Design Inc., Business Owner and Independent Contractor, 2008–2020 NY, NY; Belmont, MA; Buffalo, NY

Graphic Design / Branding consultant to businesses and organizations of various sizes and industries. Design work includes print collateral, identity & icon design, exhibits, packaging and digital design for clients such as ACV Auctions, Marc Jacobs International, David Yurman Enterprises LLC, Architectural Systems Inc., Insulet Corporation (OmniPod), Consumer Solutions Inc.

Responsible for acquiring clients, identifying and understanding a problem, and presenting a proposal that includes research, strategy, and a design solution that will work within budget.

Project management includes collaborating with an extended team of printers, developers,
in-house marketing team, and additional vendors as needed. Concepts are explained in sketch format and executed with progress presented throughout the process for feedback. Long-term projects include weekly updates to manage expectations. Online project management tools are used to support consistent communication off-site.

Liquid Comma Design, Senior Designer, April 2006–2008 New York, New York
Lead designer responsibilities included: logo design, exhibit graphics, websites, brochures, advertising campaigns and additional print collateral.

Collaborated with staff designers and Creative Director; responsible for client presentations and communicating feedback to design team. Clients included: Eisner LLP., InteleTravel, Trade Show Fabrications, and Five Towns College.

DesignWorks NY, Junior Designer, June 2004–April 2006 White Plains, New York
Assumed design and production responsibilities on accounts such as American Express, Pitney Bowes, as well as new, emerging businesses. Assisted Creative Director with project management, collaborating directly with clients to understand project goals. Participated in administrative duties, learning first-hand the details of operating a boutique design studio.
